What to do in an emergency

Ring us first, at any hour. During the day the reception team will put you through to a vet; at night and weekends the out-of-hours line, 01632 960 143, goes to the vet on call. Telling us you are coming means we are ready when you arrive.

Do not wait if

Your pet is struggling to breathe, has collapsed, has been hit by a car, has a swollen tight stomach, is straining to pass urine with nothing coming, has eaten something toxic such as chocolate, grapes, lilies or rat bait, or has had a seizure lasting more than a few minutes.

What to bring

The animal, kept warm and as still as possible. If they have eaten something, bring the packet. A towel is useful for cats and small dogs.

What it costs

An out-of-hours consultation is $120 on top of any treatment. We will always tell you the likely cost before we start, and you decide.
